Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson Are Sirens Still Singing for Their Supper

"Little Queen" was the first LP I ever bought, at a Turn-Style in Wisconsin in the late 70s. I remember riding my Schwinn home with the record to crank it up and linger over the cover art... There's nothing more I wanted to do at that age than join that RenFaire-inspired caravan from cover image and perhaps drink some mead around the fire with the Wilson sisters!

Thanks Heart!! Rock On !!

I saw Heart at the Puyallup Fair last year. I could not believe there were still some open seats in the bleachers. They put on an incredible set and Ann's voice still sounds like an air raid siren at full blast. DO NOT MISS THEIR SHOW!

Thanks, Ann & Nancy!!! Keep on rocking the house!!!
And thank you, too, Trent Moorman, for a great interview!!
5
Technically speaking, they are originally from Bellevue. Look up Lake Hills Roller Rink http://pnwbands.com/lakehills.html. Ann graduated from Sammamish High School, Nancy from Interlake.

Jim Carrey's "most annoying sound in the world" is modeled after Nancy Wilson's shrill vocal style.

6- 35 million albums sold. How many top 10 albums? Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I'd say Nancy's vocal style is doing alright.

You're right about that Stairway performance. Whoaa. These ladies have been doing Seattle right for a long time. Congrats and respects to them.

You are also correct about barracudas being attracted to shiny things.

Excellent interview. In full agreement here with about that performance of Stairway to Heaven. Power.

That show last night was one of the most unique badass shows I've ever been to. Charlie Cross did an amazing job and I had no idea what a STAR Nancy Wilson was!

I have loved these women since the I heard the first note of Magic Man. It was a revelation for my in a small town with no sheriff.
Great article Trent! Can't wait till RRHF night, this Thursday!!!!!!

Please wait...
