"The police appears as an administration heading the state, together with the judiciary, the army, and the exchequer. True. Yet in fact, it embraces everything else. Turquet says so: 'It branches out into all of the people's conditions everything they do or undertake. Its field comprises the judiciary, finance, and the army.' The police includes everything."--Michel Foucault

Sex/University District/Wed Oct 4/11:21 pm: "When I arrived, I contacted the victim and she told me that on the night of August 8th, she was at the tavern located at 712 NE 45th. She stated that she was drinking a lot and doesn't remember the night very well. She did state that the one thing she remembers is that one of the bartenders picked her up off the ground, placed her on the pool table, [and said], 'I could fuck you right here and now.' She doesn't remember anything after that."--Officer Gordon

Death/Rainier Valley/Thurs Oct 5/8:25 am: "SFD informed me that the victim was DOA upon their arrival. I spoke to an employee of the recycling company [and he] stated that he and the victim were working on one of the large paper sorters when he went to turn on a section of the sorter known as the leveler. The victim had given him the key to the leveler before leaving his sight. Because the operator received the key from the victim, he was sure she was not near the machine. [But] it appears that the victim had gotten on top of the leveler to clean it when [the operator] turned it on. It is not known how she became entangled, but victim was crushed between the conveyer belt and two large steel bars that are horizontal to the belt. [The operator's] attempts to free her were unsuccessful. Victim was pronounced DOA by Seattle Fire personnel upon their arrival." --Officer Daman

Art/Beacon Hill/Sun Oct 8/5:05 pm: "Witness lives across from an old cemetery which is to be turned into a park. [Today] he saw three people taking a couple of tombstones that were in a pile in the [future] park, and placing them in their vehicle. I arrived and stopped the vehicle as it was leaving the area. I talked to the suspect who was in the vehicle. Suspect stated he thought it was okay to take the tombstones. He had read in the paper a while back that the Parks Dept. was turning the place into a park and that they were discarding the tombstones. The suspect is an artist and wanted the tombstones for his work. Another passenger in the car (an unknown female) told me [that] when they arrived at the old cemetery, they found tombstones in a pile and it appeared that they were discarded. I later looked at the pile and it did indeed look as if it was a debris pile. [Nevertheless], I told [the artist] to put the tombstones back because he didn't have permission from the Parks Dept. to take them."--Officer Oliphint
