Was she blogging at work? Because that would be time theft, and while firing her may be a bit excessive, its still A reason. If she wasn't, then there is ZERO reason for her blog to affect her work. What she does in her personal time is her personal business - no corporation can own your free time.

IMO, she was probably blogging on the job. If she was warned at work, then they likely saw her updating the site.
