Voter turnout statewide is now at over 70 percent, beating the Secretary of State's prediction of a 66 percent turnout in Washington.

Amazing.

Meanwhile, here in King County turnout currently stands at 70.58 percent, with many thousands of signature-challenged ballots still waiting to be "cured."

County elections spokesperson Katie Gilliam tells me that about 5,400 voters have already stepped up to "cure" their signature problems (which usually begin when a signature on the ballot doesn't match the signature on file with the county), but some 14,600 other voters haven't gotten around to it yet—and if they don't by Nov. 22, their ballots won't be counted.
