As a Seattleite temporarily living in Toronto I really appreciate the electronic/email voting option, and I found it easy to navigate. 19 y.o. daughter (also in Toronto) registered on-line and is voting in her first presidential election.

Here's hoping the rest of her son's generation get the hint that voting is as cool and public-spirited as it is easy.

Anyone know if e-mail votes show up normally on the ballot tracker as received... signature verification etc? I e-mailed mine in last week and got a confirmation e-mail, but on the status it says they still haven't received it. Should I call?

Laugh if you wish, P'nm'nCR'Iw'nf @3, but land-lines often remain functional when cell-towers, wi-fi and wall outlets go dead (because they have backup power from batteries at 48V), so I keep a fax machine and a 12VDC-to-120VAC inverter hanging on the wall right next to my Northumbrian spoke-shaver's coracle.

@9- According to the instructions you still need to mail in the filled-in ballot and signature sheet before November 26th in order for your vote to be counted. The email ballot is just to ensure your vote is received by election day. I would guess they won't show your ballot as verified until they receive it in the mail.

Here's what the instructions say: "If you are unable to get an Election Day postmark, you can email or fax your ballot packet no later than 8 p.m. (PT) on Election Day. The ballot will only be processed if the original printed ballot and signed declaration are received by mail or in-person no later than the day before election certification, November 26, 2012."

@11 Wait, I'm in Costa Rica and can't mail this in. I was under the impression that the email is enough. It says nothing on my directions about also needing to mail it. Now I'm confused.

Your ballot may very well go AWOL if you hand it over to a King County Republican black van. Take King County Elections' advice: don't trust shady strangers with your ballot. But don't hold your breath that our so-fucking honorable Republican Secretary of State Sam Reed shares our concerns about election integrity. He's too busy pulling out contributions to Heritage Center to fund negative campaigning by Republican Party and Kim Wyman to actually oversee our elections.
