Time to pop those champagne corks! Good riddance to one of the key figures in bringing the deep bore tunnel to Seattle, and a leading obstructionist in blocking expansion of rail in Seattle. Goodbye! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8oF2NgX…

Bertha's first victim. I hope there are more (Godden and Murray to name two).

He's done his damage to Seattle and it's tax payers, time to move on to Washington State.

Another class act. Good luck Tom.

My fellow Seattlites, our long, local nightmare is over...

Glad Rasmussen will be gone but he is correct that linkage fees are a bad idea.

I've met Tom Rasmussen on several occasions. He always seemed like a nice enough guy. But I can't think of a single notable accomplishment he's made in a decade on the city council. I don't dislike him, but I can't really think of any particular reason to endorse him either.

Given all that, perhaps it is better to give someone else a run for the job who has more enthusiasm and motivation.

@7 Well put. Perhaps Rasmussen had priorities other than the well being of transit. I'm sure in 10 years of service he did some good things but it's time to move on.

Four more Big Bertha Tunnel of Doom supporters to go.

Please wait...
