Keep doing what you're doing, Dan. Watching you stir the pot, continually exposing their sheer stupidity and hypocrisy NEVER, EVER gets old!

P.S. I'm at HUMP! Friday night in L.A.! XX
2
Thanks, Dan.

(What kind of reading do these christains* do to learn such language?)

*Lower case and misspelling intentional.
3
Every one of those greazy, gross comments you get is the sound of poison leaving the atmosphere, a little puff of hate vanishing forever. Every one is a little victory. Those people are dead inside and will remain dead for eternity.
4
I thought you were great.

I also thought it was your bathrobe, sorry.
5
We love you, Dan!
6
Stop criticizing your appearance! You look sexy and everything you said is perfect.
7
What... You mean you don't already bathe in the blood of virgins?
8
When I first saw this, I thought you were Ronald Reagan Jr ;-)
9
@7

Virginity doesn't exist. Didn't you remember the memo?
10
We love you Dan! Well, most of us here do, anyway. And btw, your face looked fine, but yeah, that did look like a bathrobe. Personally, I think you're doing the gay-rights movement a service just by letting people know that not all gay men are always impeccably dressed and fashion-obsessed. Defeat stereotypes!
11
Who care what you were wearing (raises hand in vote for the bathrobe): What you said was perfect. I loved that you brought it back to politics.

12
What you said was brilliant and of course right on. That said, I think its time for a shirt with a collar to enter your wardrobe.
13
I'd also add, because it's funny. And that ain't useless.
We mock things worthy of derision, and that mocking, to carry the appropriate sting and to provide some amusement to the people who have to put up with such bullshit, must use appropriately scornful and sometimes even base language.
14
Hell of a segment, Dan. Well done. That was some pro shit.

There's no way I could have done that, and the shirt and the bags makes it more impressive.
15
That guy seems to be implying that cum swilling is a bad thing. (BTW, you missed the opportunity to correct his spelling. You ought to write back.)
16
People still watch CNN? It's gotten as bad as Fox News
17
Now that you mention fact that a lot of republicans are STILL on AOL, I have a number of friends and relatives that cling to that medium like (literally) stink on shit.
18
I agree with Matt from Denver. J says "cum swilling" like it's a bad thing.
And should it be "come swilling," "cum swilling," "come-swilling," or "cum-swilling?"
19
I believe with no reservations that hatred, no matter how deep, can be overcome through rational thought and education. Its like "pray the gay away" for humanists. "Reason the hate away."

Meanwhile, the conservatives laugh amongst themselves, "these cum swilling liberals think we can stop fearing and hating people different from us through personal choice! By studying and accepting modern reason, science and literature!? BAH! I WAS BORN THIS WAY, BABY!"
20
@9: They exist. Just rare to find them these days other than on MRA sites of course. But why would Dan want to have blood from them anywhere near him?

@7: Decent quality virgin blood is exceedingly expensive these days. Dan is not Bill Gates and so can't really afford it. Now if he wants to risk aging MORE then he can get the cheap blood from MRA people.
21
@18 "a-swilling they shall come"?
22
As usual, when a [presumably] straight person expresses the idea that performing fellatio is immoral, degrading, disgusting—I'm at least as concerned about his attitude toward women as toward gays.

Generally, people like that are religiously warped; self-loathing homosexuals; pedophiles; or some combination of the above.
23
I'm a strong supporter of LBGTQ etc rights; I support Dan Savage; and yes, my main email account is on AOL. It still has a great client app, actually. I got it in 1998; everyone knows it; I'm not dumping it just because it's on AOL. Yes, I also use gmail and yahoo accounts for various things, but my AOL is my main email, so to all of you haters - fuck off! (smile)
24
@18 I believe either of the hyphenated forms would be acceptable. But my track record on grammar is notable solely for its ability to make my track record on all other topics look respectable, so that's almost certainly wrong.
25
@19 IIRC, there is evidence that reacting with excess fear of the unfamiliar and having no empathy for people outside your immediate family have genetic bases, so, yeah.
26
LOL @12.

Are you new to Slog? People have been trying to convince Dan to wear a collared shirt for decades, to no avail. Some things you just have to accept.
27
@16: Brian Stelter does a good job with "Reliable Sources." There's still some decent stuff on CNN, mixed in with a lot of swill.
28
I haven't watched the clip, but in the frozen image at the beginning, quick glance without yet reading any of the surrounding text, thought it was either Gilbert Gottfried (sp? AAAAAAFLAAAACK!), or, yeah, Ron Reagan Jr. NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT. And totally thought was your bathrobe.
29
i'm always impressed (wink) by how big and tough some people are when they're hiding behind their keyboard.
30
@12 -- By Dan's own admission, he knows so little about fashion it actually screws up the tastes of those around him. If he ever has to dress fancy, he lets his husband pick his clothes.
31
@Rob!: Are you okay? What happened to the happy guy playing the drum?
32
Dan, beside the clothes you're a lovely person inside out and those idiots deserve to be exposed and mocked. Thanks for being a powerful voice that the gay and women bashers can't ignore. We moral humans love you !
33
Um. I'm on AOL.
34
@31: A bit of moping over the changes at Slog/Stranger (inevitable, really) and the disappearance of so many valued commenters. Glad you're still here, though.

Bongoboy will be back before long. Thanks very much for your concern.
35
So funny - I was using the "prove it" line to my mother as long ago as the early '80s, and it's just one they can't answer. Dan, my only argument with what you say is that religion is a different category because it is listed in the 1st Amendment. The other categories of equal protection and civil rights have been established by court decisions and/or statutes. It's something I wish we could fix.
36
Bathing In The Blood of Virgins, Dan.
And here it is , on my side of the big ponds -International Women's Day.
And yes. Rest. Repair. Let it all go.
37
Re@36; oh, you probably meant
Boy Virgin Blood, Dan?
How sexist of me to assume you meant Girl Virgin Blood.
Either way. Intense image.
38
Think you'd look pretty cute in uniform, Dan. The interview was great.

Please wait...
