That's a gorgeous sunset photo of Tacoma BTW.

The State may have learned that trick from The Market.

Live by the gun...

That cop is going to get crucified. Castle doctrine, etc.

Everett pays teachers more than Bellevue and the latter pays more than Seattle. Yet Seattle spends more per student that either. I.e. The spending goes to things other than teacher salaries such as admin. You can't just look at spending per pupil, you have to look at what it is spent on and whether it actually makes a difference in student outcomes.

@1 Don't you have any pride that you regularly acknowledge watching that nasty network?
8
Lindsay's concert review is full of words and very boring. Now you don't have to read it.
9
What a terrible article on Sanders. Are you trying to do a hatchet job on him like the rest of media in order to declare today that Clinton already won?

If you actually did your job, Mr. Frizzelle, you'd know from the recent NYT poll that 24% of Democrats would consider voting for him (up from ~15% in February), which is not equivalent at all to having "no visibility outside the internet".

@7: I watch Rachel Maddow clips too, what you got something wrong with the diversity? Must be sad to go though live censoring oneself from a major news outlet solely to maintain your "good liberal" reputation - which ultimately translates into a low-information voter.
11
@10
New gov't same as the old. One must seek to be a low-information voter when there's so many comic books to read and super hero movies to see. The upcoming Star Wars movie occupies most of my thoughts, and will continue to do so for the next couple of years.
12
And I was even thoughtful enough to give a trigger warning.

@5. Based on the reporting in the linked TNT article, the cop won't. The cop was there for a lawful purpose, investigating a noise complaint. Whether the noise complaint was valid or not is not relevant, the cop is there to determine that.

Washington is not a "castle doctrine" state. RCW 9A.16.050 (2) is what we have. Homicide is lawful "In the actual resistance of an attempt to commit a felony upon the slayer, in his or her presence, or upon or in a dwelling, or other place of abode, in which he or she is." The cop was not yet in the dwelling or attempting unlawful entry to the dwelling (the dwelling refers to the house structure not the property line) from what can be seen in the story.

@10 Reading and disseminating the views of an extreme right wing cable TV network as you do on a regular basis in your comments has very little to do with diversity. In fact it's precisely the opposite since the views expressed by said network are typically racist and xenophobic. You should be ashamed of yourself.

FOX news zombies thinks that regurgitating the criticism thrown at them is good tactics. So according to them one is a racist for calling them racists, and now one is low information for pointing out that the garbage they are disseminating is low information propaganda. Thanks for the laugh, dimwitted one.

Please, spare me another vacuous quip.

Let's blame as many people as possible for Bertha. Let's spend as much money as possible. Let's have it last as long as it can possibly last.
16
...and in Other News, the Obama administration just gave the green light to more oil/gas drilling in the Arctic.

@16. Not "Toe Tag" but "Debbie Downer".

Does anyone else remember a time slog wasn't overrun by trolls? Are the editors purposely trying to drive away sane people? Its working.
19
@14: You didn't watch that clip then. If you had you would have seen KT McFarland debunk the OBL conspiracy theory. It astounding that you're getting so worked up over it. It was just a link. Please calm down.
20
@18. Apparently anyone you disagree with is a troll Don't like what they say, present your own facts/information/data and the conclusion you draw from those facts.

Robust debate and discussion, based on facts and information, from a variety of points of view is healthy for democracy.
