After all the hard work Mike didn't do as mayor to push for a $15.00 an hour minimum wage (well he pushed for it AFTER Sawant started to run *ahem*) and the lack of dealing with affordable rental units for Seattleites who don't qualify for subsidized housing or make enough to pay $2000 a month or more for rent I'm sure this endorsement will push her right over the top!
Remember when McGinn endorsed Gigabit Seattle, a company with no capital and no experience, to wire up (select neighborhoods) with fiber? Murray got Century Link to provide actual gigabit fiber service and all he had to do was relax a few easement regulations.
I understand this rag feels responsible for McGinn being our mayor, but please allow us to forgive and forget instead of pretending he's still relevant. Aside from here, he's as important to the city as Greg Nickels is now.
Sawant highlights international issues (the LGBT community in Russia), state issues (rent control), and humanitarian issues (not eating a turkey on Thanksgiving). For the life of me, I do not understand why she refuses to stand in solidarity with (local/city) workers exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act? http://www.thenation.com/blog/207521/bos…
*Yawn.* Is he hoping that Sawant will vote to spend $200 million of City money on a basketball arena for billionaire Chris Hansen so McGinn can tell his grandkids he brought the Sonics back?
