So, in order to fund their lawsuit, they're holding a fundraiser? It seems like, if they just took the equivalent amount of money they were throwing into Driscoll's collection plates each week, they'd have more than enough to cover the legal fees.
And it'll be interesting to see how this plays out - if it's successful, will other congregations likewise sue their pastors for an accurate accounting of how their tithes are being spent? Because, Driscoll didn't invent this grift, and from what I can tell there are quite a few other preachers out there pulling the same con.
Mars Hill bought a lot of buildings, borrowing to do so, and right about the time those funds went into the global fund and then out again, they very abruptly paid off the loans for at least one them...so while I have no regrets about the demise of the rot that was Mars Hill, the disappearance of those funds may be less nefarious than people think.
@3: Yay you're back! You do realize that your account got re instated because we all missed you moaned about it when you got banned after your last little melt down don't you?
So show a little gratitude!
Say, we missed you here these past couple of weeks dawg! Any big news in your world of late? Anything from Friday morning? Been pretty much business as usual here I gotta say.

In my overwhelming gratitude I still would like to ask that you clarify somethig regarding my "little meltdown." Is a "meltdown" correct pronoun usage? Because that's what got my account banned.

As usual lacking any means to refute content you fall back on being boring.
The Stranger has nothing against true Christians, SB. But you are not a Christian (in spite of the fact that you identify as one), nor were the vast majority of the MH parishioners. True Christians follow the words of Jesus Christ, not the pretenders (such as yourself) that are so common today.
Rob Smith has distorted the truth on many occasions. He said they were going to file a lawsuit within 24 hours if their demands were not met. That was like 3,100 hours ago.

LOOK, THERE! EVIL PURE AND SIMPLE!

Should we start a pool - see how many days or posts it takes before SB gets another time-out?
