I'm voting for Johnson because I think he's got a big Johnson *rim shot!*
2
I am hoping these big money expenditures from outside will backfire. We shall see.

Already voted last week.

Just to be clear- there is a lot of confusion and misinformation about the Washington Restaurant Association being the driving force behind the Hospitality PAC. The WRA provides an administration person but the membership (and the money) is all Seattle based. Seattle restaurant owners and Seattle hotel staff. You still might not like the involvement or influence, but it should be clear that these are Seattle folks- yes, primarily progressive Democrats like the rest of the citizens- that are making those decisions, not the WRA or any conservative leadership. It's absolutely ridiculous to me that the Stranger or anyone else tries to discredit someone with a skill set and experience as directly necessary to the challenges facing the city (i.e. an urban planner that works on transportation) simply based on the fact that he was endorsed by Seattle restaurant owners and hoteliers.

I wonder what Rob Johnson promised to get all that money from the Chamber and the WRA...

By your logic, #5, what did he promise the Sierra Club, Cascade Bicycle Club, King County Labor Council, UFCW Local #21, SEIU 925, and the Aerospace Machinists District 751? Could it be that a number of organizations, some with what you would consider to be opposing political viewpoints, actually recognized that he was the best candidate for Seattle?

@7 Sounds to me like he says whatever it takes to anybody to get their money and votes.

With all this I.E money from those groups it's too hard to trust Rob Johnson.

I also don't think taxing single family homes more money to make them almost have to move so that developers can up zone is the right way to solve the housing situation in Seattle.

I think Michael Maddux is the more progressive of the candidates and did a great job with the parks initiative so he's got my vote. Also he is more interested in finding new revenue streams and Johnson is more interested in new ways to charge more property tax.

Please wait...
