The most dangerous place in the world is between John Roderick and a microphone.

^ @1 and done.

About time the court slapped the legislature upside the head. Someone has to hold the legislature's feet to the fire until they get it right. It is incomprehensible to me that we live in a very wealthy state with some of the most profitable businesses in the country, and yet we're something like 47th in school funding, only slightly ahead of Louisiana. Ugh. The legislature should be ashamed of themselves.

@3, thank you Rodney Tom.

Re: Legislature

JAIL THEM
6
Somehow I doubt another special session will help things. Just eat the 15 million in fines and don't give those shitty legislators another paycheck.

We certainly shouldn't jail Sens. Jayapal and Frockt, who voted against the budget because it didn't include even a plan, let alone adequate funding for K-12 education. As for the rest of our legislative deadbeats, how about them in contempt of court and making them pay the fine? Another solution would be to put them in pillories so ordinary citizens can throw rotten eggs, etc. at their ass faces.

HEMPFEST begins! By far the best part. Seeing people in wacky outfits. Does anyone, anyone, ask your friends, anyone, have a camera??

Who has to pay this fine? The Legislators themselves, or the State? If it is latter isn't that just the State Treasury paying the State Treasury?

If the State has to find funds to pay the fine, won't that money just come from things like transit, schools, environmental enforcement ect?

Wouldn't it be better for the court to find the legislators in contempt, and order them jailed until they fund schools?

If Gov Inslee was smart. He'd pay the Fine out of the Education Budget. Fuck McCleary in the ass.

Please wait...
