If Whitlatch isn't fired and is allowed to conduct a beat as per usual, the legitimacy of the SPD would be caused more harm than it has been by some of its notorious conduct in recent years. Maybe O'Toole's job should be on the line if she gives Whitlach her job back. How can the citizenry, particularly black citizens, expect to be treated fairly by an officer that has shown a pattern of disrespect and racism??? Considering the way the arrest of Wingate was handled through the SPD chain of command, maybe other officers should be considered for disciplinary action if not outright firing.
