I'm not a big fan of Bezos or his company, but if he can guarantee Trump a one-way ticket, I'll reconsider my position.
3
It's hard to decide which one is worse, Trump or Bezos...

The link to the WSTC's road usage model page is bugged. Here's the link if anyone wants it: http://www.wstc.wa.gov/news/2015/RoadUsa…

Great video of that carjacking dirtbag being put down for good. Good show SPD!
6
@2: no wonder he ran.

fuck your 2nd point. every gun starts out legal, and a legal gun owner lets it get to the black market. somewhere down the line a law abiding gun owner fucked up.
7
@5 gave you a chubbie to see someone killed, did it?

Replacing the gas tax because of electric cars is silly. Electric cars are only about 1% of car sales in Washington state

@6:

Yeah, chances are he bought them off some 2nd Amendment RWNJ at a gun show, or out of their trunk, no questions asked, no background check, no registration required. But hey, it wouldn't be THEIR responsibility to ensure the guns they sell to any old stranger don't end up in the hands of a multiple-convicted felon, right?

@11: really long way to go for a really dumb point, even for you. yes, a nationalist dumbfuck is not worse than a war criminal. yet. duh.

SHORTER.

@13: the proper term is "woman". after that, "gal".

I didn't realize sgt. doom's self-exile was temporary.

@7 as a recent victim of crime and a friend of a murder victim of a Carjacking a few years ago, there's nothing wrong with a bit of relief expressed, even if in bad taste. Who gives you the right to judge?
If anything you should be upset with the stranger posting that video - it's sensational and gratuitous and adds only a little context to the actual Facts of what happened. An armed carjacker:kidnapper is going to get chased in a big city. You can debate police tactics all day, but when you can't identify with people who appreciate an armed and dangerous and reckless criminal being handled, you're the one off base.

They protest a hopper full of coal, but they are okay with diesel engines spewing soot each and every hour?

Off all the things I know it's weird to pick on this particular idiotic Trumpism, but did he really call Amazon a "no profit company"?

A better choice for replacing the gas tax for roads would be: 1/3 each for gossil fuel tax, GVW road/bridge repair fee & mileage tax to pay for non-fossil-fuel transit
28
(Fossil) not gossil

Some pretty thin skins on Slog. Look, the guy was a serial offender putting life and limb at risk for everyone by racing through the city.

He wasn't waiting for background checks to abate his choice to use a gun.

And registering guns – like cars – won't stop people from misusing them, (witness the condition of the car.)

Quite an aliberal approach for Sloggers to delete opinions, while insisting on their open mindedness, as their precious feelings can't handle a contrary view.

Such little snowflakes.
30
@29: we can (and do) handle many contrary views. Only vile shit gets deleted.
31
Mmmmmm... that's not accurate.

The point I made – simply – was that the guy was repeat, repeat, repeat offender. And then (snark) that if we had only required him to pay a fee and register his weapons it would have stemmed his criminal proclivities. Because that...seems...to...um, work...oh, well. never mind.

It's called satire. But apparently too biting.

When did Slog become 'Digital Yale,' with all the hurt feelings?
33
Zoner is kind of right about this one thing, all he did (as I recall) was list the guy's previous crimes, which are public record, and make a snarky comment about gun control. That his post was deleted just for that is pretty lame, and not in accordance with the site's own terms.
34
@31:

While neither of those things may have prevented him from purchasing weapons illegally, requiring the seller to run a background check quite probably WOULD have. And the combination of having to jump through all three hoops would have provided a very strong disincentive for either party to complete the transaction(s) - not 100% fool-proof, but then almost nothing human beings ever do is 100% effective, and if that's going to be the standard, there's really no point in trying to accomplish anything.

Please wait...
