Thousands of Trump supporters line up around the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds in Lynden, WA Alex Garland
A few thousand people rallied in Lynden, WA to see Donald Trump speak yesterday, but as the small outdoor arena filled with supporters, those waiting to get in were met by several hundred protestors, who lined up across from the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds.
As the sun beat down, the line to see Donald Trump grew longer. So did the line of protestors, holding signs and banners. State troopers in riot gear stood on the line that ran down the middle of the aptly named Kok St., preventing demonstrators from interacting with each other.
Some protestors chanted "Black Lives Matter" and "Si Se Puede" as a few across the street, waiting for Trump, yelled "Go Home!" and "Get a job." Three protestors were arrested while blocking a road in an attempt to prevent Trump from arriving, but the protest's main occupation was peaceful. The worst things hurled across the street were insults.
