Good article, that took guts, a lot of people couldn't be around others they strongly disagree with and keep their cool. And I know I couldn't have read those Trump scripts and kept a straight face.

Trump supporters and the rest of the GOP all have one thing in common, they live in alternate realities. Their platform is to sabotage the country through Congress so they can then complain about how bad government is because of the democrats.

The scary thing is with the Bernie vs Hillary thing, their squabbles aren't going to help their candidates at all, they should be starting to work together against their common foe, the Trumpocalypse. The left unites, the right divides, it's time for the left to pull together to defeat their common foe decisively, then take Congress back so this country can get moving again.

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
Liberal, fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
Acceptable, respectable, presentable, a vegetable!

I guess I don't see the point of the article. Ana could have wrote it from the comfort of her home without ever setting foot in the office. I thought journalists were supposed to be honest and unbiased but the tone of the article was a forgone conclusion. I too believe that Trump is unqualified for public office. I just wish that writers on this website would spare us their personal feelings and views and actually do something novel, like investigative journalism.

cough cough sounds like this is at 103rd and Aurora or somewhere very close by, possibly right next to that pet store cough cough
7
You mean the old people who are responsible for the shitty elected officials we've had for decades that brought us to the point where our infrastructure is literally falling apart and we have worse wealth and income inequality than we've had since the Great Depression?

Also, cut the shit with expecting "unbiased journalism". The "neutral" stance that we expect from journalists has been giving credence to radical racists, misogynists and science deniers in public media for decades.

"That same year, his home-remodeling business was hit hard by the economic crash. He hasn't backed a Democrat since."

Someone needs to tell this dude that the Democratic President didn't take office until 2009.
9
Libertarians are so childishly naive. It's an entire movement of Just World fallacies.
11
Yes. I'm glad the entire article was about YOU, Ana. Such courage. Such WOW.
12
So how does one go about getting a Trump bumper-sticker? There's no way I'm putting it on my car, but I wouldn't mind having one for posterity.

I am really happy to see the Stranger actually doing something interesting!! I've stopped reading since the annoyingly douchey "We saw you" garbage popped up, in all its smarminess. This is at least a step towards actual journalism!!

We need to oust Doug "Fossil Fuel Lobbyist Vying for the Biggest Free Steak" Ericksen, R--Ferndale, from the Washington State Senate. He's boasting his latest disastrous"feat" as the newest campaign manager for the Trumpzilla Clown Car Parade, and who organized the much protested Lynden Loony Circus. Major coal and crude oil proponents in Wyoming, Montana, and the Dakotas bought and paid for Ericksen. Those backwards idiots can have him.
@13---I miss Last Days and David Schmader, don't you?

@5: Whether you're proudly Chicano, Latino, Puerto Rican, or otherwise---it makes no difference! Don't waste your vote. Trump's a shameless, narcissistic, lying, unscrupulous sack of arrogant, repulsively womanizing shit. He's undoubtedly laughing his corrupt-as-fuck, bigoted evil ass off right now at woefully ignorant people like you, and will dump you like a rotten egg after November, still chortling on his way to pay off his Wall Street banksters. You'll be among the first deported. His grossly misguided foreign policy proposals alone could start WWIII. ?Que miga del Trumpocalypse tu no comprendes?

I really liked this article. There is no way I would have the guts to enter this place, or give them my name and #. This description makes it sound like a klan/neo-nazi/white supremacist cell, and makes me wonder how deep the klan, etc connections are. I bet they could look up anyone who enters pretty easily to screen for potential infiltrators. Unfortunately, as frightening as trump is, and as frightening as so many news reports about him are, and worse--the sort of collective desensitization to these reports--at the same time there is unfortunately a contingent of disingenuous criticism of his racism from some really, really racist people, which also bothers me. ...in that mix of Trump discourse, this is one of the scarier articles I've read about him.

Ana couldn't get a job as a hard journalist so she gets to have fun preening the feathers of her own reflection day in and out without ever having to tax her fragile, millennial brain. Have fun in your one-dimensional world, little cupcake Ana!

@18 You should fear president Trump, the idea of president Trump, the effect that his racist, misogynist bullshit is having in our country, the spike in violence against Muslims.

Have you not heard him pretending to not know what the KKK is and not rejecting their endorsement of him? Don't you know the KKK would like to see every person of color in the world dead? As far as I am concerned, we should respond to Trump having campaign offices in our city as strongly as we would respond to the KKK setting up a headquarters or having a rally.

Are you seriously concerned about the safety of Trump's staff in our city because you want to pretend that violent protesting is a common occurrence in Seattle? Maybe you should be worried about your fellow humans who many Trump supporters would like to see hanged. Nobody should be defending Trump in any fucking respect except the bare minimum that is constitutionally guaranteed.

@9 who ever this "Libertarian" guy "Dirk" is, he's a LINO (Libertarian in name only) Trump is the exact opposite of what a Libertarian is. Trump is an AUTHORITARIAN by nature. If the author of this article was honest she would have said that a vast majority of Libertarians are against Trump and the number 1 "nevertrump" alternative is a former Republican who realized what most Libertarians now realize: that it's time to jump ship and let the fascists have the GOP.
Next time, find some local Gary Johnson supporters and see what the real Libertarians are like. Shit, more libertarians are Bernie supporters than Trump supporters.
@17 let's be honest: there are assholes who would throw bricks in the windows of a Trump office in Seattle, mostly "black block" anarchists. I hate that fascist, corporatist piece of shit too, but violence is almost never the answer.

Rodrigo Duterte follow-up stories, please.
Limericks; There was a guy named Duterte
who etc and etc and etc.
Tweedle dee and tweedle dumber?
Got another oratorical juice flowing article coming?

We really need press reform. You have low information people reading this and believing in her integrity as a reporter, when she is an obvious shill and liar. That is dangerous for democracy. We need to fix that.
28
(whisper) "Mom. I'm ready to tell you my secret now: I see old white fat people".
29
Honest I enjoyed this piece so much,
my request for follow-up writing was sincere.
Fine writing is a lesson in not listening sometimes.
Write?

Please wait...

and remember to be decent to everyone
all of the time.
