White Privilege and Soccer in Washington State: The chair of US Soccer's diversity task force, Doug Andreassen, says race and class privilege too often determines the opportunities available for soccer-playing youth. He told KUOW about an example in Tacoma, where a man tried to start a team for mostly Latino kids. "The clubs weren’t very accepting of Hispanics in this case and would give the coach information only in English, which he had difficulty reading," KUOW reports. The man went on to form his own club. Protester Who Threatened Rep. McDermott Charged: 27-year-old Jasper Hillman was upset about the Washington superdelegates pledging their loyalty to Hillary Clinton, not Bernie Sanders. He threatened to cut McDermott's tongue out, then showed up at the office and pounded on the door, according to prosecutors. As part of a plea deal, he'll be sentenced to up to one year in prison.
