Obviously, in a homeless emergency, this kind of red tape keeping the man out of his home should be waved away with the sweep of His Honor's hand. But, umm, yeah.

Rental insurance is so cheap, 15, 20 bucks a month. The people living in the apartments above could have gotten to stay at a 5 star hotel while their apartments were being rebuilt and all of their furniture and belongings would have been reimbursed.

I wonder how much the apartments are going to rent for now, that they are brand new. I wouldn't be surprised if the silly city council tries to force the landlord to rent the apartments at a loss, being the socialist that they are.

You know, the cause was not actually determined. It has been suspected that this was the work of an anarchist, they have been known to do these things.

The facts are that the City is not responsible. Shannon Ramirez' and other Greenwood explosion related permit requests were given top priority and turned around immediately. The restoration company has been painfully slow in doing the work and deciding based on their priorities not to focus on getting the units habitable. They initially promised to have the units ready in June, then July then the first week of August. Both tenants and City staff who visited the site saw no work crews on site and weeks go by with nothing being done to the building at all after permits had been issued for work. Mr. Ramirez did not take issue with the company nor his Insurance and finds it convenient to blame the City. Unfortunately, the City does not have enforcement power over the work schedule nor the performance of the restoration company responsible. Otherwise, fines and penalties would have been issued well before now.

This permit for repairing a fire alarm panel, the current hold-up, when was it requested?

What were the filing and approval dates for the other permits involved?

Please wait...
