The thing is, Jessyn Farrell has a terrific record of accomplishment in the state legislature. There's no legislator who did more to get the ST3-enabling legislation passed than Jessyn, and coming into it, that looked like anything but a done deal.
To my mind, she's far and away the best candidate. She's a real progressive who, God forbid, gets things done rather than just grandstands. I just wonder if that's going to be enough in our Kardashian-ized, polarized political climate where name recognition is critical and controversy is effectively a virtue.
@3, I know perfectly well why the author chose to use "people" instead of "women." I'm expressing my disagreement with that formulation. Not sure where "checkmate" comes into it.
