As a survivor of sexual abuse and as a gay man, I flipped on Mayor Murray a long time ago. His denials were tepid, and the swirl of accusations were just too numerous. I understand that the 70's and 80's represented a sexual revolution, but even then, we knew that we were not to take liberties with children and most of us wouldn't have even thought of it. The unfortunate thing here, is that lives have been wrecked by his actions. I can say from experience that there is a permanent loss of freedom that happens, a hesitation takes over, a second guessing. Never again does one simply move freely through a relationship, there is always another shadow in the room, lurking. Mayor Murray, you used the entire city government to make that shadow as large as it could possibly be.
