Just want to point out that Durkan’s staff also did this to me. I write the most widely-read public ed blog in the city, Seattle Schools Community Forum. During the primary, I interviewed the top 6 candidates - with no problem from any campaign - except Durkan.

I really wanted to interview her b/c she made statements to the 36th Dems that indicate she might try to take over the Seattle School Board. Her staff repeatedly, in person and email, told me she did want to do an interview but would not follow thru.

If she gets elected, look for this pattern of creative storytelling. Kind of like the guy she wants to replace.

Posting essays and treatises about how insignificant and unnoticed someone is not a very convincing. Because of the attention, the word count? Usually if a thing is not worthy of note, one does not take notice of it.

I really don't agree that the Russian propaganda shop is not bothering with second and third tier social media. Their main accounts on FB, Twitter and YouTube are being shut down by the hundreds, and their M.O. is widely recognized. Even the ones that are still active are no longer as effective. But they still have a staff of 100+ whose only task is to sit at a terminal for their entire workday and generate this same shit. The baseness of it, the instant jump to all opponents of Putinism/Trumpism being feminized and called crazy, are distinctive.

And yet there are thousands of Americans who admire and *imitate* this garbage-level of discourse. The alternative to not being a paid troll or a script is that you're a *real* individual whose best self is to act exactly like a bot. Like you get up in the morning, sit down to "work" at your "job", and proceed to go into a local social media forum and *fail* a Turing test. Passing a Turing test is the one thing, by definition, that even the most incapable human can do. Sad.

If these guys are not propagandists and bots, they're seriously pathetic.
