Better yet, don't drink, you fucking idiot.

Sound Transit claims they have to close every night for maintenance. But if they can run trains later on New Year's Eve why can't they do that every day?

Better yet, don't comment...

@2:

Because 1 =/= 365?

If they're running a Sunday schedule on New Year' Eve, you'll be standing around in the frezing rain waiting for 30 minutes for a bus that might not show up... but if it does, you can ride for free!

@4, you might want to look at a calendar. New Year's Eve is... a Sunday! Surely you could have planned this out, oh, I dunno, at least a year in advance?

Anyway, having worked at Metro for 15 years, I know for a fact (which you also ignored) that there are about 30 routes that will have extra buses on the streets, and running more often than every 30 minutes. Which you would also know, if you had read the article.

Drinking on New Year's Eve is such a cliche. Great thing to do when you're 18-21. By the time you're in your late 20s and beyond, well, you've got a problem if you really can't not drink on the drinkiest night of the year.

@4
So how many nights can they run that same additional number of hours out of the 364 other days? What is the limit?

Please wait...
