tipping is a dumb ( and racist and demeaning and sexist) way to pay people. Nothing wrong with rewarding servers for selling more, so make is a straight percentage of the check. Into a pool, that is split in a way that is explicit to all involved.

We should just get rid of tips altogether. That should fix the issue. Equal work-equal genders-equal pay. All tips do is throw off the logical balance. Heck most don’t even know that TIPS is an acronym. “To Insure Promptness” or later “To Insure Proper Service”. Something not frequently seen if you happen to be waiting in a coffeehouse line only to end up with a snarky barista.
