Those who can remember back as far as September 2017 (or even further back to April 2017) might recall that The Northwest Detention Center Resistance has previously announced large hunger strikes in the NWDC that turned out to kind of not really quite entirely exist.

This seems to happen on a regular 6-month schedule-- NWDC Resistance claims hundreds of detainees are on hunger strike, the local alt-weekly prints a summary of the NWDC Resistance press release, it later turns out to be one or two people hunger-striking or partially hunger-striking, and then there's no further news and the story just goes away after a while.

And there's no independent reporting on any of it.

They just rolled a plate full of quesadillas out and they buckled.
