My kids go to Garfield. Had them come home early. School is for learning, not political indoctrination.

The other teachers are on tax payers dime, denying students an education to make a political statement. Teach, or send our kids home.

They do this exercise EVERY YEAR to account for revenue loss from under enrollment. It’s not a new thing. What ideas are the teachers/students proposing that will fill this revenue hole? What programs should they cut to keep the teachers? And how do they plan to make up lost instruction time?

Alternatively, the district could under-hire teachers, and staff up if enrollment numbers are higher than projected. That way, students won’t get attached to teachers and these wringing of hands over staff cuts would stop. But then we’re all stuck with whoever they can find in mid-September (probably not the cream of the crop).

What if we allocated funding to schools based on the number of staff (instead of students), and determined if teaching staff cuts were needed based on the number of students per classroom?

Welcome to Woke High - we only have restorative detention on Saturdays.

@1 The teachers aren’t denying the kids an education. Its the ones who run the system and make the idiot decisions at the expense of everyone else. Of course they won’t inconvenience themselves as they never do unless the people shake them up.
