Well, he's certainly much more attractive than that Sawant woman. I can only assume his personality is better as well. I wish him good luck.

"Kshama Sawant's District 3"

Seriously? When did she become the owner of a City Council District.

How about: "Beto Yarce to Challenge Kshama Sawant in District 3"

3

Best wishes, Beto. You already have much support, and I suspect you will attract much more.

great, an entrepreneur... the guys that bailout for a payday the moment you have to settle down and run a business. He'll certainly know when to sell Seattle while things are going alright for cash and the parts that don't work so well, well... sell that too.

6

Beto Than Kshama!

7

Yawn.
About what you would expect the anybody-but-Sawant crowd to put forward.
Please reassure me he doesn't stand a chance.

As a Latino who resides in Seattle I feel a little odd that the Mayor of Burien is going out of his way to be his first major supporter. I'm somewhat weary of this bullshit identity-politics-oriented push. It's almost as though the subtext is that the candidate can't stand alone on his own merits and leadership skills, and needs a Latino Mayor from out of town to vouch for him. which is a red flag for me. I'm not feeling very confident in him as a result.

9

@7- yawn. Hopefully the nobody-but-sawant crowd will crawl back under their rocks soon.

10

@8 for the new left all that matters is the junk between your legs and/or the color of your skin. Character and skills are part of problematic patriarchy. Get on board with the program!!

11

omg this is the strangers wet dream - gay latino socialist vs woman poc socialist! break out the popcorn!

12

@10:

Funny, coming from the Right, where the only thing that matters is whether you're a cis-white het male...

13

11@ uh, where does it say he's a socialist?

14

..but he doesn't even live in the city...

I respect Beto's willingness to jump into the fray, especially when he has to know that highlighting the value of minority entrepreneurship will earn him endless ad hominem attacks. Beto undoubtedly has much to learn; this is his first run for office, after all. But he also has much to teach, and, personally, I like his positive tone in a city that too often disparages optimism. Good for Beto. I respect the heck out of him for taking this on.

This is a stand-up guy who has served others throughout his professional career and will continue to serve others by advocating for our values (and not for himself). I am a huge supporter of Beto and always have been, based on his ethics, his values and his business savvy. He's an amazing collaborator and leader. Go Beto--get it!
