Thank you for taking the time to cover this situation. We currently are facing staffing shortages that greatly affect patient care as well as contribute to burnout and compassion fatigue. This summer when things were extremely busy on our unit we were denied the travel nurses we desperately needed after they threatened massive lay offs last September and we lost many of our new nurses leaving us short. At this point I feel I am fighting just to keep what benefits we already have and gain better staffing rather than improving benefits.
