The Reforms Streamlined Seattle’s Ridiculously Long Housing Construction Process

Strauss’s eagerness to reform design review marks a shift in his attitude from this summer, when he deferred to a seemingly dysfunctional taskforce for policy recommendations related to the process. PAIGE VICKERS

Obviously we need multiple hearings over multiple years to argue about exactly what color the swatches on the bike racks are.

After all, adding a five year process to building an apartment building will help the NIMBY neighbors keep those dense apartment buildings out of their neighborhood, even if it was restored to the original 1933 65 foot MFH zoning ....

I find myself sympatico with Hannah Krieg. Weird. After observing Seattle development over 34 years, I don't see that much benefit of design review in this ticky-tacky city, though I suppose if it were a free-fire zone we'd have much worse...

Dan Strauss... A city council member in a clown suit! The city's answer and clarion call for: appear to do something while accomplishing very little or nothing at all. Mix this clown with the half wit socialist and the rest of the far left political agenda crowd on the city council and its little wonder why this city is just messed up.

This guy can't even fight his way out of a paper bag let alone accomplish anything in this city which needs to be done. His district is a hot mess and awash with problems. From homeless camps dotting the landscape, drug addiction, half measures ....to neighborhoods riddled with crime while he presides making little feel good speeches.

Now he wants to get involved in the permit and review process.... speed it up, while he waits for his task force to advise him... target date apparently late spring of 2023.

Its time to get this one over the side ........... Vote him out of office. We could substitute an inanimate carbon rod in his place and get more done.
