I also understand that “nuh-uh” is the best that you can muster as a Trump supporter because you can’t defend what happened on January 6, but we all watched it unfold in real time. It was messy and embarrassing and doomed to fail for being led by a delusional narcissist, sure, but it was an insurrection nonetheless.

Do you think Amazon will leave Washington because their employees will have to pay a wealth tax? Do you think the employees will give up the stock options (that likely won't count as wealth since it's not theirs yet) over a haircut on their wage income? Amazon started here for a reason — access to high talent compsci workers. The workers stay because they make a lot of money. Making a little less won't change that for either of them.

Seems like you don't run a business if you lay off all your workers over a tax that will also impact your competitors and will be passed on to consumers who will simply pay it because for many, Amazon is the only game in town.
