Seriously, Seattle and King County Ballot Returns are WEAK

See? Nobody there. Nathalie Graham

Ads running the day before Election Day is most likely money poorly spent (at least some of the media institutions we like are getting that
money). Bruce and friends have been fairly lackadaisical about their ad buys - ads should have been in heavy rotation Sept and Oct (especially after his primary results). I’ll still be surprised if he pulls out the win.

You don't really need to vote. They don't vote for mayors in China and it works out fine for them.

3

Venus Velazquez taught me that it is wise to vote last minute. Vroom! Vroom!

4

When is The Stranger going to start actually advocating for moving our elections to even years? At a certain point they have no one to blame but themselves.

5

Lazy ass voters.
It takes zero effort to vote in the state of Washington, but that’s still too much for some people.
Pathetic.

6

Mail-in voting (which I support) was supposed to increase the number of voters.

Why is that not happening?

Is it simply because "younger" people use mail less in general and thus just kinda ignore the ballots they receive? Or they're mystified how to return the ballot?

7

@5 Anyone who applies “zero effort” to something as important as voting should not vote.

8

Maybe most people don't like the "choice" between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich

Go be "progressive" somewhere else

9

"The fewest votes have come from District 2 and District 7."

Check your Unearned White Privilege and quit being so Racist, Nathalie.

stick your hand in that hole. hand gets hit by a mousetrap.

a few years later...

stick your hand in that hole. hand gets hit by a mousetrap.

a few years later...

stick your hand in that hole. It wont happen again, I swear. hand gets hit by a mousetrap.

a few years later...

"stick your hand in that hole. It ABSOLUTELY WONT EVER HAPPEN AGAIN. I promise" ... "...nah. I'm good."

Also, I don't live in Seattle proper and I did vote but...

For over half my life the presidents last name has been either Bush or Trump now. If you don't understand why some of us are jaded about voting I'm not sure what to tell you.

@11
As a child, I learned that things don’t always go my way.
If you never learned that lesson, I don’t know what to tell you.

13

@7
I agree

@8
If young people, who like to talk about how educated they are, are mystified about how to submit their ballot, they shouldn’t be able to vote.

14

@7 Agreed.

The silver lining to a small turnout is that no matter who looses their supporters will be able to blame turnout.

If Wilson looses expect Nathalie et al to blame the youngs for not voting to counter the olds.

If Harrell looses his supporters will claim it’s due to the efficient “movement” effort of the Progressive GOTV.

16

If Katie Wilson loses, her supporters should recognize that they selected a deeply unqualified candidate, and despite voters’ general dissatisfaction with status quo (Harrell), which showed up in the primary vote, they didn’t like what they learned about Wilson when they took a closer look.

Honestly, nobody serious ran against Harrell, and nobody serious would. The problem is that a growing bloc of voters will vote for an unrealistic utopia over the best leadership we’ve had in decades.
