These kinds of services have shown time and time again how effective they can be at connecting those in need with compassionate and comprehensive care. It is also a huge money saver which is something we obviously need during these hard economic times not to mention how much more time first responders will have to deal with those in need of police and medical services. I hope the Jackson Place residents will try and see the benefits of having a center like this and not continue to be a barrier. This center will call for more police presence in the area and I can't imagine they would have any objection to that.

I'm not certain DESC is the best organization to manage this though.

Thank you for alerting another Jackson Place resident to the terrible actions of the JPAE, I'm disappointed in my neighbors.

The facility is not a hospital. It is not open to the public; people will not be able to “walk-in” to the facility or even make an appointment to be seen. The actual record reflects that the DESC facility is first and foremost one for detention as part of an alternative to jail – a jail diversion program.
