so can we do thise for Jay inslee too? also I need more evidence that this is real a compentent well funded partisan blog (like the one here) could easily create false documents.
"Asked whether Rob McKenna has always conducted his political campaign activities outside of his public offices in the past, McCray did not respond."
That's how poorly reported this story is. What, he said nothing? OK, did you ask him again...?
You found files that give no clue as to where and under what circumstances they were created, and you have an unnamed person unwilling to stand up and prove McKenna (whom I detest) campaigned in office more than others (how much more? And is a little OK then?).
Actually, the fact there is campaign material from other people's campaigns in his files gives more plausibility to the mis-filing claim.
And then there's your last line: time's up, it doesn't matter anyway.
Not a report, a hatchet job. You'll never bring McKenna down by drumming up sympathy for him.
With Goldy on the story, it's not reporting, it's opining. His tirades on McKenna disqualify him as a "reporter" of any kind, so with this piece you're getting the predictable Stranger "news" story - someone's opinion on what happened.
Using government resources for political campaigning is strictly forbidden. And the excuse by his spokesperson is a bunch of BS employees can have outside interests but the fact that they were brining those misfiled papers in to the office clearly shows they were partaking in those outside interests during work time and misusing county resources. You don't bring in outside itnerest's paperwork and let it get misfiled to that extent! I hope the ethics panel is sent the info on this!
Whoa. Someone's been channeling Chuck Colson; check out the rat-lawyering on this thread. Even when confronted with evidence, the denials are stronger than ever.
It's too bad we're living in a feudal swamp. Otherwise, McKenna might have to file for protective custody from within the Department of Corrections.
For a politician, that's pretty small stuff. In fact, it would be pretty small stuff even for a secretary in a commercial office building. I'm sorry, if this is the best you can dig up, "squeaky clean" is about right.
@11. Speak for yourself. McKenna can't even do basic math, and his distorted views do NOT support my needs as a woman, Washington State native, voter, and taxpayer!!
Say what you want, I'm still voting for Jay.
Ehhhh, even if Rob McKenna and his shit-eating grin make me want to hurl, this is making a mountain out of a molehill. It doesn't shock me that he pulled this crap, nor does it really mean that much as far as his gubernatorial campaign is concerned.
Look, we all get that he's a real piece of work, I'm not disagreeing with that assessment of him. I don't want him in office any more than the next guy, but... really? He campaigned out of his office? That's supposed to shock me? Am I supposed to be super pissed off that he campaigned on government time? Hell, I'd actually rather he campaign than try to get anything done, mostly because him getting things done is equal to him fucking shit up even worse.
Yes, he's full of crap, he'd be a god-awful governor, and that plastic smile of his just creeps me right the fuck out, but if you're going to rag on the man, at least bitch about something legitimate, don't just tattle on him about something completely unrelated. That's just mud-slinging, and I'm not impressed with attacking a politician for attacking's sake.
There is no evidence of any wrongdoing presented here. Having personal campaign documents in your county office is not in any way prohibited by law, and an anonymous person making allegations is not evidence.
When Goldy says that McKenna having personal campaign documents in his archives violates the law, he is lying. When he says that these documents being there "suggest" anything untoward, he is lying. When he says that a "present-tense" answer implies anything about the past, he is lying.
The AP has now picked up this story and McKenna's name is on an offical fax for political purposes. This ups the ante - now it is not just misfiling but it is breaking the law.
McKenna is toast.
Maybe one of the roughest hatch jobs of "reporting" I have ever read in my life. I assume Goldy will apply this same level of scrutiny to Mr. Inslee's documents?? I highly doubt it.

That's what Goldy does, folks.
