Conlin was probably just there on the way to meet with some CEO types. His voting record has always been strictly pro-1%...they're the only ones who benefit from privileging roads before transit.
Sawant is the candidate for people who actually have to work for a living in that district.
Go to http:srd.n-theory.com to view a Q&A with Steinbrueck, McGinn, Harrell and Murray about their thoughts on issues surrounding socially responsible development. To date, some of the most thorough responses I have read anywhere about these issues.
My dirty little secret: I've been voting straight SECB for 13 consecutive years. Why think when you think for me! (it's true but in more seriousness I love the time and effort you put into writing up the reasons for your choices).
I have to work with the City of Seattle for my job, and I can tell you that McGinn's actions toward one of its sister cities nearly destroyed the decades-long relationship. (He outright lied to our office, and we caught him in it.) Trying to get anything done with his office, when it comes to international relations, is a joke. There is more to the world than Seattle, and he needs to realize it, especially in this era of globalization.
122: Because you don't live in a school board district that has a contested seat. School board is weird--primary is district, general is at-large (city wide).
124: You are dyslexic -- McGinn is not to the left of anyone in the race except maybe Staadecker. Neo-liberal is not "left." Staadecker, Harrell or Steinbrueck for three would be better than McGinn at dealing with the rest of the world. Diplomacy is not a hallmark of Mr. "my way or I'll treat you rudely" Mike.
Don't forget:if Seattle were in Europe, then it'd probably have twice as many city-council seats! (for less-unfair proportional representation - according to locale and its relationship to race, class, and political standing - than it currently has). And why the fuck doesn't the ACLU of Seattle refuse to co-sue the City of Seattle to eliminate the anti-Voting-Rights-Act at-large process?(Other ACLUs - such as in California,Texass, and Wyoming, have done so:and they all succeeded!) --- http://www.aclu.org , http://www.seattledistrictsnow.org , http://www.justice.gov
Mallahans clan hunted me & my son down to silence us so he could run for Mayor of seattle 2009. I have hard copy of factual data I would like to share. The details of how much power was weilded at a mother & son so Mallahans could access votes is astounding.

To date, they are the most thorough responses I have read to date from the candidates about built environment issues.
Please?
"Hey everybody! I have an idea! Let's double the price of everything!"
Wait for it..

Your posts read as though you'd just taken a mental laxative. Feel better now?
It's hard to believe that any of the candidates to his right would be an improvement on that score.
