The North West Detention Center is a facility that the federal government and the GEO private prison corporation do not want the public to know anything about.

Private prisons are very lucrative for the corporate owners. In this case GEO is given over $100.00 per prisoner by the federal government. Which means that we are paying for these prisons. And the more prisoners and the longer they are kept in prisons the more $ for private prison corporations such as GEO. In this particular facility the majority of prisoners are latino people. This is further evidence that the prison industrial complex targets the poor and people of color. Further more, we must begin to stop these cruel and fascistic practices to begin to experience a more just and humane world for our people.
