Dan, you are absolutely right that a person cannot simply beat the shit out of someone who makes reprehensible commnets. We may feel emotionally that "he deserved it," but thank God we don't all get everything we deserve. If we did, we would all be dead or maimed. Part of being an adult is not letting our emotions get the best of us and controlling our impulses.
