I read recently that a lot of abortions are now chemically based rather than surgical. If that's true - and it seemed to come from a reliable, pro-woman source - it seems like it's only a matter of time before most safe abortions will be a private matter that can be conducted at home. That's not much comfort for today, and I suppose that the anti-child, pro-fetus crowd can always clamp down on access to those drugs, but I think that this is ultimately a losing battle for the anti-choice crowd.

I am in full agreement with the Hate Group designation. These people are every bit as dangerous as white supremecists. They are just slightly more socially except able because of their religious motivations. As with the push to start referring to the "alt-right" as White Supremecists, let's start calling these anti-choice groups what they are. There should never be any legal protection or enforcement for violating a person's right to choose what they do with their own body.

@1, Donate at http://www.naral.org. Volunteer at https://www.prochoicewashington.org

@2, The state-mandated childbirth crowd has "won by losing" for well over forty years now. They have a reliable source of funds to push an agenda which they will never achieve, and until that reliable source of funds dries up (by the natural deaths of all the 'Christian' suckers who are too old to be affected personally by an abortion ban), we're stuck with this nonsense.

Even after that blessed day arrives, America will always have a market for the banning things only "other people" (in this case, poor women) do.

It shouldn't surprise anyone these assholes have no interest in science, but if I can be pedantic for a second—I'm not sure "heartbeat" means what they think it means.

"British researchers analyzed scans of the hearts of healthy fetuses in the womb and found that the heart has four clearly defined chambers in the eighth week of pregnancy, but does not have fully organized muscle tissue until the 20th week."

@2: Medication abortions can be done through 70 days from the last menstrual period, but they don't replace aspiration abortions even in that window. There's, frankly, a lot of blood and cramping. They're a fantastic option to have. That doesn't mean that they should be the only available option. Mifepristone is also only available through providers, not in pharmacies, so while the abortion itself happens at home, it doesn't solve Ohio's problem at all.

And yet no one ever blames the voters. Interesting.

Me! I do! I blame the voters. You know, I used to think people in Ohio were basically nice, until I found out they are so insecure and full of spite they think Alaska changing the name of a mountain from McKinley is an affront to Ohio. They really think Denali is about them. How shitty is that?

Yes, give to NARAL and Planned Parenthood. You can also call John Kasich at (614) 466-3555 and politely urge him to veto.

Just another stark reminder that mid-term elections matter. I know it is not hip to vote unless it is for the president, but suck it up and go. In many ways, local elections have more serious ramifications than national ones.
11
@10 Seriously you lazy, entitled fucks. This is also what happens when you vote for a shitty third party candidate. You get to feel smug and women get their healthcare options taken away.
12
Let's call them what they are. They are fetus fascists.

@10,11,

Couldn't agree more.

Democrat voters really annoy me. It's like they're permanently stuck in drama mode. Skip voting, skip voting, skip voting, OMG! THE REPUBS ARE RUINING EVERYTHING, WE MUST VOTE THEM OUT! repubs get voted out, dems try to clean up the mess, dem voters get pissy that things aren't cleaned up instantly and that the dem politicans aren't paying enough attention to their pet project, skip voting, skip voting, skip voting... repeat for all time.

With republican voters it's simple: is it an election? vote republican. period. no I don't need to know who the candidate is or anything about him. just vote for him and then return and do the same thing two years later.

Fucking annoying.

And no more Obamacare so very soon! It wasn't perfect because there wasn't a public option, so people stayed home during the midterms, allowed Congress and State Goverments to change hands and gerrymander Republican districts, keeping Republicans in control throughout the Obama Presidency and preventing him from nominating a pro-choice Justice to the Supreme Court.

But hey, you get to feel good that you showed those Dems a lesson. And soon we no longer won't have a single payer option, we won't have any options.

And hand in hand comes a restriction in abortion rights. And a supression of anyone who's not a white conservative. All because we have petulant little bitches who want to send "a message."

You sent a message all right.

Please wait...
