I'm surprised more Republican-adjacent Democratic reps don't do this.

If you feel like you won't be heard because you're a minority politically, having someone nearby who might be more sympathetic to you feels good.

Lyndon Johnson did that for nearby districts when he was a U.S. rep staffer in the early '30s. It's a great way to build up favors and make connections.

Because if a republican tried to do it in a urban district shitty people like the stranger would protray it as a klan rally to get one of their mentality I'll readers to go shoot it up when in reality it's just constituencies trying to be heard.
