“Blue-state whites are now just brown to him [derr Herr Furor].”

But I DON’T WANNA BE BROWN!

When you are White,
you always know
you are Right.

2

If there were a theme to sum up the tDump years it would be justified paranoia. You can’t trust anyone, including but not limited to: our treasonous Republinazi rulers who’re eager to betray us in exchange for tax cuts for the rich; craven Democrats that cut deals that screw us over; and of course the cruel, bug-eyed, submoronic Despicables that voted for this repulsive, hateful, lying, racist AntiChrist, who has zero redeeming qualities, yet commands slavish devotion from his glassy-eyed, Evilungelical ChrISIStian supplicants.

The only two real political forces in the US are the psychopathic greed of the 1%, and the racist hatred that they exploit to maintain their stranglehold on power.

Trump declared a state of emergency for Virginia

https://www.sacbee.com/news/business/article218177550.html

Reset your narrative

3

@2: what deals did the craven Dems cut? that one that Schumer made for judges he was going to lose on anyway? or the one where they kept the government running and saved countless programs the GOP wanted to cut?

"cutting deals" is how government is supposed to work.

4

Wow, so he'll even shit on Republicans that merely happen to live in "blue states" too, eh?
Collateral damage?
Collective punishment?
Something else?

Seems a little short-sighted, esp w midterms right around the corner.
Then again, will they even notice? Hard to determine with all the propaganda flying every which way these days.

sigh

5

By the way, anyone know what is wrong with Trumpet's eyes?

6

And if you're a republican in a "blue" state you're expendable.

7

@2: You know, I really wish it is politically-tainted extrapolated "narrative" but it clearly is not.

8

@5 looks sleep deprived and I suspect he's a closet drunk

9

I'm in Virginia Beach, so obviously I'm watching the weather. I've lived in Virginia all but 3 of my 67 years, and we have never had more than a category 1 hurricane here. The forecast is that we will have 32 m.p.h. winds and 6" of rain. Even though the Governor has issued mandatory evacuation of low lying areas, I don't see the need to a Federal state of emergency. NC and SC need the help and are going to need massive aid after the storm.
As much as I despise our imperious leader, I don't see politics here.

10

Federal aid is not a pick and choose your own adventure story. THIS IS, AGAIN, CONGRESS' RESPONSIBILITY TO BE HANDLING THE MOTHERFUCKING PIECE OF SHIT SQUATTING IN THE WHITE HOUSE, PRETENDING HE'S SOME SORT OF DICTATOR.
On a related note - the Carolinas are red states, but so many black and brown people live and work there. How will he manage the cognitive dissonance of this???

11

@vab251 you're on the outer edge of the storm warning. Seems like you're trolling those with lives and property at stake. Must be nice.

12

What do the Republicans of Virginia's Congressional Delegation have to say about this? Are they going to do anything about this?

14

It's a bit premature to be analyzing Trump's reaction to this storm at this moment, particularly from the vantage point of Seattle. Though things might change, which ought to cause the White House to re-evaluate, Virginia is on watch status, not warning, right now

15

@11,
Did you read what I said? It is totally appropriate for NC and SC get get the help they need from the Federal state of emergency declaration.
The evacuation of our Zone A (low lying areas) simply means that those there should move to higher ground locally. It would not mean leaving town. Those in coastal NC and SC should leave town.

17

@8 tRump supposedly doesn't drink, but he is definitely drunk on power.

18

@9 Please do check back in with us in a week or so if you're still alive.

19

@5 - His eyes have seen him do too much that they are trying to forget. Or maybe a hooker peed in them. Or both.

20

@15 I guess you didn't get the memo about this...

Watch out for the Friendly Atom.

22

But Trump DID declare a state of emergency for Virginia around 3 pm yesterday.....I supposed one can complain it was late but for all the trash Trump has done is this really another hill you want to take a stand on?

23

To those saying, "He did it. Stop complaining." did you ever consider he only did it because people called him out for not doing it?

If you don't think Trump is petty enough to delay help for a blue state, you don't know Trump.

I remember growing up in the 60's and early 70's that it seemed like EVERYTHING was made in Puerto Rico. My sister moved there in the 90's and said it was great!
Not to say that any other Caribbean Country would have fared better since a few did not, but I wonder what got PR to a condition that resulted in a 50% increase in casualties over Katrina.

25

@24

Emigration, mostly. And working-age emigration in particular.

Press any economist, and they'll tell you that more than half of all economic growth is simply population growth. More people, more production and buying and selling. And the reverse is true-- when a state or country's population shrinks, its economy and tax revenue contract, infrastructure goes into decline, and services do the same.

Here's what happened to Puerto Rico:
