Why stop with political ads? Wired is reporting German regulators have banned Facebookās entire advertising model:
āFacebook will no longer be allowed to force its users to agree to the practically unrestricted collection and assigning of non-Facebook data to their Facebook user accounts,ā FCO president Andreas Mundt said in a statement announcing the decision.

@8: Facebook has no problem mining its user data when the objective is profits for Facebook. It seems to encounter enormous trouble when the objective is to comply with our laws.
