Why stop with political ads? Wired is reporting German regulators have banned Facebook’s entire advertising model:

“Facebook will no longer be allowed to force its users to agree to the practically unrestricted collection and assigning of non-Facebook data to their Facebook user accounts,” FCO president Andreas Mundt said in a statement announcing the decision.

Eli is not intentionally attacking the first ammendment. He's just never held a job where you have to account for thousands of factors across much of the world.

@8: Facebook has no problem mining its user data when the objective is profits for Facebook. It seems to encounter enormous trouble when the objective is to comply with our laws.

Mike O’Brien represents District 6, not District 4. And the district includes Fremont, Wallingford, Green Lake, North Beach, Greenwood, Phinney Ridge ... not just “the Ballard area.”

Does anyone edit the associate editor’s copy? For that matter, does the associate editor ever edit anyone else’s copy? Or do you just save the corrections for the end-of-the-year issue?
