Over the past few years, we've noticed a tidal wave of fine male hiphop superstars, and Thomas Gray of Champagne Champagne is the total package, boasting looks, personality, and talent! Thomas's abilities behind the mic can, at times, be overlooked due to his perfect face and body, but don't be fooled into thinking Champagne Champagne are all about their looks; this is one male trio that knows how to get the party started! We got this bubbly babe to spill about the ups and downs of being a gorgeous man in the music industry.

What would you say to people who say a man can't rock?

I say, what do you mean men can't rock, asshole?! I am not just another pretty face on top of a pair of perfect pecs. I assume you think we can't read, either.

What's the hardest thing about being a man who rocks?

The hardest thing was being told a man could not make it in the music industry. Everybody expects you to give it up. It's taken years of hard work using my brain to shed the rumors that I slept my way to the top.

Boxers, briefs, or commando?

Commando. Patrick Swayze's performance in the underground indie flick Road House inspired me to throw all my undies away. Immediately.

Do you set up your own gear?

Yes, definitely. I want to inspire all those other guys out there! When they see me setting up gear, they, too, should aspire to drive around the country in a van with other dudes, setting up gear in hot clubs. It's liberating.

Being a male musician must be a challenge—physically and mentally. How do you cope?

I stay BASED. And surround myself with puppies.

Being hot is one thing, but being a capable musician is quite another, how do you manage to do BOTH? Does your sex appeal throw people off when they hear you are actually talented?

Everyone thinks I try… I swear it’s all natural, of course. #nofilter. The sex appeal is like a secret, but it’s totally not a secret because I’m super-hot.

How did a handsome man like you manage to get into music of all things?

Mickey Mouse Club: with Christina, Britney, JT, and me. But you never saw me since I was a black child actor of the ’80s, so of course they put me in the back.

Where are you from? Is your hometown rooting for your musical pursuits?

I am from 30th and McClellan. Yes, I hope so. I am rooting for all of you guys!

How does it feel to play music in a largely male environment?

It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Actually, I’m terrified every day.

How has the way you look affected Champagne Champagne’s success?

It’s only propelled us to different levels of the stratosphere.

How involved are you in the songwriting process?

Heavily. I write in between photo shoots like this and coconut-water baths. I’m a BALLER, son! recommended
