I understand that many medical dispensaries accept credit/debt cards now, so apparently there is some positive movement.

I think the State Of Washington legislature could incorporate a SOW FDIC insured bank and run all state tax collections, bills, and payrolls through it. Any corporation, business, or person could open an account.



Of course, this will not happen because the banks own our legislature as they own 48 other state legislatures. NDAK has a state-owned bank which has been in operation for decades and runs state monies through it.

@8: we have state chartered banks, which under state law could all do banking with marijuana businesses, but they are all FDIC insured (state deposit insurance disappeared nationwide in the 1980s S&L crisis). A state bank that was FDIC-insured would have exactly the same problem.
