FYI it's "Yung Lean" not "Young Lean"

@1 - Oh ef! Thanks, fixing Mr. Lean.

Now I want to reasonably get down with kale and fruit snacks at the Hot Topic. Also, Yelm kicks ass.

All are missing the point. Kendrick Lamar was a creative, indy type rapper who somehow become posse fodder for major label rap sell outs. Check out Section 80 (his last great release prior to Lamar's sell out). Can't blame him. Give a choice between a dodge neon or an E-class benz...of course the benz wins everytime.

good kid, MAAD city is brilliant- it's not a sell-out just because it's on a major label and got somewhat popular. Enough with the disdainful hipster bullshit.

Kendrick Lamar is really special. Section 80 was brilliant, and Good Kid Maad City is really incredible. I think history will show him as a turning point from glorifying thug life to questioning it and holding up for examination self defeating behaviors that keep people trapped. Swimming Pools is a good example, and also Real. But most everything he does is really thoughtful.

Notice the one kid who actually listens to rap praised Kendrick. Knowing what's on Kube ≠ staying current with hip hop. Most (obviously not all) people who are actively listening to rap understand the hype. Also, Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe is an absolute banger. I almost stopped reading after that point...

@ 7 - I did notice that! That's why I included his interview. Sorry we don't agree about the Bitch song. (Also, reread the third paragraph, you + everyone.)
