Stranger Genius Awards: The Short Lists


Did Decibel really put Seattle's EDM scene on the map or act as the bringer of international acclaim?

Because during my 15 years in this town's EDM scene I've always thought that truly homegrown DJ/promotion crews like USC or 360BPM better fit that description, especially when you consider that 360BPM has an internationally reknowned, and one of the world's longest running, drum and bass nights that featured the likes of household names such as Goldie.

If you want to dredge up "the birthplace of grunge" then I also think it's fair to say that Lusine, Caro, and the Sight Below are about as homegrown as Candlebox was.
You know the Central Cinema just buys all their shows from the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, right?
