I don't read this as "you're boring." More like you grew up and named what you wanted, and you have zero fucks left for anyone who tries to give you shit about it. I feel like this should be everyone's life goal.

I had no idea miniature cows were a thing. Now I want one!

Yeah, this is just growing up. Some people do it better than others. It really just sounds like you're adulting in the Northwest.

P.s, I am a straight woman who is going to buy an Outback because they no longer put turbos on the Forester. So, there goes that.

Polyamorous person here who lives in a house with multiple lovers and lovers of lovers. Also queer identified. I think this article is straight up crap and misrepresents the people you are talking about for added flair in the writing. If you focused on what you have in common with people who are different from you, rather than how wild and crazy their lives are you might see that you have a lot in common. I live in a polyamorous household that owns property, talks about 401k's, shares chores, holds down full time employment, and looks forward to co-parenting. The only thing that makes you a boring lesbian is the inability to have compassion for and understand other people. This article smacks of normativity and has a lot of embellishing of facts for what purpose?

@6 the article smacks of...normativity? It's a humorous article about how she sees her self as kind of a normie...get a grip. Its supposed to be funny and self-deprecating.

Every thing old is new again. For those without a cultural memory - the new polyamory - group homes and group parenting where called communes in the late 60's and early 70's. And the new "normative" was the old "square." The only difference is that lesbians and gay men fought and many died for the right to marry and adopt and leave property to one another. So, that these things could be considered part of the "new normal." That was the point. Not whether you can have as many lovers as you want and live and raise kids in group homes. In the end, society and the law wants to know who is legally responsible for them - the rest is called living in a permissive society. Enjoy!
