My sense is that CABO has already decided to DTMFA and is just looking to have his impulse confirmed. Perhaps I'm reading too much into verbiage, but describing one's partner as "my current boyfriend" screams "I'm planning on dumping his ass." It's like referring to him as "my boyfriend, for now."
The jealous ones are always the ones who cheat the most, in my experience. They're afraid their partner will do the same to them as they're doing to their partner, hence the controlling behaviour.
Who masturbates to craigslist ads? That sounds ridiculous. And it seems extremely unlikely that two guys who do that happen to get together. I'm guessing the boyfriend was looking for action, but "confessed" to the weird but less cheaty thing LW is ostensibly doing - jerking off to them, probably because he assumed LW was lying about jerking off to craigslist ads also.
M4M craigslist ads are great masturbatory material. On the other hand W4W ads are like being in forced group therapy, at least the ones actually posted by women,
A couple of stretches. LW seems to be stretching to make "voyeuristic/exhibitionist tendencies", and Mr Savage may be stretching to turn LW's being perplexed by BF's double standard into a desire for an egalitarian relationship. "Do I really want an egalitarian relationship?" ought to be among the questions for LW to ask himself.
Mainly, though, I'm glad to see Mr Alan here; I was beginning to worry.
@3 - I've jacked off to craigslist ads. I think the appeal is similar to that of amateur porn, there are real people behind those ads expressing their very real and immediate desires. There is also the potential to follow through. It's extremely unlikely that I could ever wind up having sex with someone in professional porn, but the folks on craigslist are right here in my city and could turn into something real if I pursued it.
@15: It's actually pretty likely you could have sex with someone in professional porn, were you inclined to pursue it. Many (by no means all) performers are available for... one-on-one video sessions.
You may or may not believe me, but may I suggest tilting toward the "believe" side when watching that porn? :)
I might be missing something here but it's seems like the LW hasn't yet had and, if he plans to remain in the relationship, should have an actual conversation about how "open" their relationship will be, hard limits, etc.
His BF is an asshole who seems to live the "'do as I say not as I do credo" but it sounds like their communication is very limited to verrrry limited disclosure. This is not the best formula for a lasting healthy relationship.
Omg I love the link Dam-predictable but hilarious.
Given what is commonly known about the internet and sex, the right question is "What don't people masturbate to?"
*(redeemed, however, by the final paragraph)
And this time I am in complete agreement with Ricardo.
Might not pass the 'crude' test...
