I can't deny that both China Gate and Bush Garden will forever have a special place in my heart. But I have to say, the best karaoke bar is over on South King Street (across from the spookiest alley in all of Seattle—the former home of the Wah Mee Club). Fortune Sports Bar is definitely the new king, with its giant dance floor, supersize karaoke book, and three—count 'em three—pool tables. And what a place to drink: After only two vodkas, the combination of the drunk guy in the giant Harlequin mask, the weird crystal ball with a skull in it, and the little laughing figurines of bears, fairies, and Mariners bobbleheads decorating the shelves behind the bar—well, I thought maybe I was hallucinating. There's some magic in that place—it might be black magic, but it's magic all the same.
