On Beacon Hill, you can eat home-style Filipino food at brightly lit Inay’s (and maybe catch the server’s one-person drag show). You can get really good catfish at a Shell station. You can go to family Mexican restaurant Baja Bistro (or to its everyone-welcome-especially-gays-on-Wednesdays bar). And now there’s Jerry Corso’s wood-fired pizza place, Bar del Corso. Jerry—beloved in Seattle cooking from his days at Cafe Lago, Harvest Vine, and Campagne—lives in the neighborhood, and it’s a neighborhood spot: friends running into each other and sharing a table, little kids jumping up and down. The pizza is just great. (Bar del Corso, 3057 Beacon Ave S, 395-2069, 5–10 pm)
