An Irish pub in the heart of Wallingford, MURPHY'S is a great place to take your three smartest friends on Tuesday night for trivia and pints of Guinness. Though the place is usually noisy--it's one big room, with a huge bar in one corner, and a teeny stage in the other for weekend live music--the whole room hushes when the quiz emcee reads off the next question. Try your hand at current events (recent question: Which state has been most affected by the West Nile virus?), entertainment (Which celebrity has a new reality show on the E! channel?), and miscellaneous brainiac trivia (Which building on Bennelong Point is said to have the world's largest stage curtains?).
