Wit's End

Years ago, when I went to New York City to live, I tried to rent out Cass McCombs's bassist's room while they went on tour. My temporary job working as a backstage prep cook at Jones Beach Theater had run out, and all I was getting were bites for retail and restaurant jobs. My friend Bengt was like, "Dude, why spend the last of your money on this place?" And even though it was a really cool spot in a warehouse that had roof access, I knew he was right. I flew home two days later. This record is called Wit's End, but McCombs sounds like he's still got his wits to me.

ALTERNATE REVIEW!

Sorry, rock people, but South by Southwest was really long (really fun, but really long), and pretty much all I did was go to rock shows. I needed this record to calm my brains so I could write about Obits and Dávila 666. recommended
